WORK

Technology Law in Practice

↓

I work on AI governance and technology law in Nigeria, advising on the legal questions that arise when organisations design, procure, deploy and manage digital systems.

My work spans AI governance, data protection, technology contracting, intellectual property and regulatory compliance, with particular attention to how legal requirements are implemented in real products, processes and organisations.

01

AI Governance & Product Advice

I advise on AI governance and accountability: the allocation of responsibility, human oversight, decision authority, product controls, evaluation and the evidence an organisation should retain when an automated system affects someone.

I am particularly interested in the point where governance moves from policy into system design: what an AI system may do, what it should not do alone, when a person must intervene, how decisions are recorded and how those decisions can later be examined.

02

Data Protection & Information Governance

My data protection and information governance work covers the lawful collection, use, sharing and protection of personal information, particularly in AI systems, automated decision-making and digital products.

This includes questions of lawful basis, transparency, data minimisation, retention, cross-border transfers, security, accountability and the rights of individuals affected by data-driven systems.

03

Technology Contracts, IP & Procurement

I work on the contracts and rights that shape how technology is built, supplied and used.

This includes AI contracts, software licensing, technology procurement, confidentiality, data rights, service obligations, supplier governance, liability, security requirements and exit arrangements.

In AI procurement, the contract is only one part of vendor due diligence. Organisations also need to understand what the system does, what data it uses, what the supplier can change, what evidence supports evaluation and what happens when something goes wrong.

04

Legal Operations & Technology

I am also interested in how legal work itself can be structured more effectively.

This includes legal workflows, contract review, legal knowledge management and decision logs. Good records should make legal analysis easier to apply, retrieve and audit across legal, product and technical teams.

The aim is not to automate legal judgment for its own sake. It is to make legal work more usable inside organisations.

How I work

I prefer to begin with the system, not the regulation.

What does the product do? What information does it use? Which decisions can it influence or execute? Who can change its behaviour? What can a user challenge? What evidence exists if the outcome is questioned later?

Those facts determine which legal issues matter and whether a proposed safeguard will work in practice.

My role is to connect legal analysis with those operational decisions early enough for the answer to influence the system.

Current role
